ALPHABET CENTRE

The street children phenomenon is real in Ghana and in only the capital, about 20000 people have abandoned their villages to roam in the streets of Accra searching for the inexistence means of sustainance. Among them are children who have neither completed basic education nor acquired any vocationa skills. To take them out of the street and to offer them the opportunity to grow,the Academy offers them a pre-school course to prepare them for the professional school, where they can lear a skill for sustainance.

SELECTION OF THE STUDENTS

The youth living in the capital have deep ties to their ethnic backgrounds. It is possible to offer the alphabet courses free of charge to representatives of the various ethnicity every year.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSES

The course is structured in an elastic mode-beginning from the preparation class to the acqisition of minimum requirements for the acceptance into the vocational school.

ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

The best students would be allowed to enter the vocational school: depending on their preparation at the alphabets center and how frequent they were at the alphabets courses.
